In India, it is difficult to gain access to clean water. Many of their water issues are caused because of water contamination by both chemical pollutants and living pollutants. India also lacks a long-term solution for the water crisis. Eventually the underground resources will run dry, and they will not have a way to gain access to water. There is an insufficient amount of water for the needs of the people and poor water quality resulting from delayed investment in urban facilities. Over 21% of India's diseases are caused by water contamination. Only 33% of India has access to sanitation.Children in 100 million homes in rural parts of India lack water.
How does insufficient access to clean water contribute to other societal problems?
Insufficient access to clean water causes discrimination against women because the walk miles to go and get the water and so they can't go to school. This makes many women uneducated.
Insufficient access to water can cause discrimination because many women are uneducated so they may lack in certain skill sets can only do housework.
Insufficient access to clean water can also cause disease.The water could become contaminated because, sense most of the kids don’t get a proper education they may see non contaminated water and walk through it.
